This is narration of the journey and exploration of vegetation of the plains and hills of Western Bengal, South of the Ganges, across the mountains of Birbhoom and Behar to the Soane Valley, and hence over the Vidhya range to the Ganges at Mirzapore and Bhaugalpore. From there the explorer struck to the north to Sikkim Himalaya.
